Camellia
Place was built by East Alabama Medical Center in 1999. The community
is located in the Auburn Medical Park along with the HealthPlus
Fitness Center and Bethany House.
Twenty, one-or two-
bedroom, cottages with patios offer views of the
woods or the lake surrounded by a walking path
where residents may fish from the
handicapped-accessible dock. Those who
enjoy gardening may plant their favorite flowers
or vegetables between the established plants
around the cottages. Each cottage has a one-car
garage with full-size washer and dryer.
The closets are walk-in and the bathrooms
include seated showers. The kitchens are
equipped with a refrigerator with icemaker,
dishwasher, garbage disposal, electric
stove/oven and microwave. The large living
area serves as the living-dining room. The
clubhouse nestled among the cottages, where
midday and evening meals are served, is available for private functions as well as
community activities.
The
thirty eight studio/apartment
assisted living residence at Camellia Place is
decorated in warm, woodsy shades of green, gold,
orange and brown. A Licensed Practical Nurse and our Care Assistants are available
twenty four hours a day. The dietary
department prepares delicious home-cooked meals keeping dietary
various restrictions in mind. Meals are served in the spacious dining
room. There are large open hallways and areas to sit and visit or
read. Two courtyards with gazebos and screened-in porches complete
the visiting or relaxing areas for residents to enjoy. Additional
services of supportive care, continence management and cognitive
support for those seniors with mild Dementia are available at Camellia
Place. |
